Welcome!

Welcome to Christ Church, Gipsy Hill – and a special welcome if you’re new to the area, have recently begun to worship with us, or just found our website.

Christ Church is a Church of England parish church. We are a diverse family – different ages, cultures and personalities – but we all share the desire to deepen our knowledge of God, follow Christ together and apply our faith in the real world. We are committed to serving our local community in and around Gipsy Hill.

Christ Church is part of the open evangelical tradition, combining an emphasis on Biblical preaching and discipleship with a variety of styles of worship – some more formal and traditional, others less so.

We have a large Farsi-speaking community at Christ Church, who are a fully-integrated part of our Sunday morning fellowship, whilst also enjoying separate Farsi language discipleship groups, Bible studies and a monthly Farsi fellowship.

Children and young people are very welcome at our services: we have a flourishing Sunday School and Young People’s group. We also have a full midweek community programme, which includes daytime and evening Home Groups, a community drop in, a thriving toddler group, and a host of other ways of engaging with our local community . You will find further details of all that is going on, and more about our life together, here on our website.

Christ Church Gipsy Hill is currently in a process called interregnum or vacancy, it describes the time between one Vicar leaving and a new one arriving. During this time of change we hope to continue to operate as normal. At Gipsy Hill we have a strong team of staff and volunteers, who will continue to run our various ministries. You can read more about this and how our new Vicar will be chosen here.

Do come and meet us – be assured of a warm and friendly welcome on a Sunday morning, or come and chat to our curate Luke.
