Key project messages

January 2009

• We have completed our consultation and scoping phases and have commenced project work.
• We have developed and agreed a new vision for the use of the hall.
• We secured support from the Diocese and earlier received funding to run focus groups in the community 
• We are actively seeking major fundraising from grant making trusts.
• We have approved plans following approval by Lambeth in February 2008.
• A number of major fundraising events have run successfully since our first Gipsy Hill Craft Fair on the 18th November 2006 with Paxton School.
• We continue to arrange fundraising events.
• The new hall will include a new Playpen toddler centre, an expanded programme for young people and a shared flexible community space.
• We aim to start building work within 12 months.
• We will continue to engage with local community groups and regularly communicate developments to the Christ Church congregation.
• A gift day at Christ Church raised £100,000 in 2007
