The MOTHERS’ UNION at CHRIST CHURCH

The Mothers’ Union is a world-wide organization with a commitment to support marriage and family life in its many different forms through practical action and prayer.  The Christ Church branch of Mothers’ Union exists to support these aims of the Mothers’ Union, as well as to provide opportunities to grow in friendship and in our Christian lives. The branch was opened in December 2007 and has a small but committed core membership and many friends of MU. It is a "Mothers’ Union sans Frontiers"  -  all are welcome,  many come to its gatherings and events.

At present, it is led by an Acting Branch Leader and officers (the former leader is now training for ordination).   It meets some 3x a year with a scattering of activities during  the year that support Christ Church and its community. The format for its meetings is a shared supper and fellowship, followed by a programme that may include a speaker and/or led discussion.  Its activities have included reupholstering the communion rail kneelers, wreath making and supplying food and other needed items for those in need in Zimbabwe.   Members lead the Children and Young Families team, the Play Baby and Toddler Group, serve as Readers, have facilitated and engaged in parenting groups and give baptism support.
