Christ Church is looking for a new incumbent
The Church Pastoral Aid Society Trust invites applications for the post of
Priest in Charge – Christ Church Gipsy Hill
Gipsy Hill (pop. 6,500, ER 122) is part of the bustling community of Crystal Palace in South London, with its panoramic views of the City, and is home to a diverse and multi-cultural mix of people reflecting its thriving local businesses, schools and groups.
Christ Church, (with its daughter church at Berridge Road), has a clear evangelical tradition. Our mission statement is “Seeking God’s Kingdom in Gipsy Hill” and we strive to be a church where everyone is welcomed and able to find faith. We're ready to build on our strengths to be even more at the heart of parish life. This is a friendly church, representative of the social and ethnic mix of the local community. Many in the congregations are involved in Sunday services and there is a lively programme of children’s activities.
We are seeking a priest who is
- A prayerful minister and caring pastor, with excellent interpersonal skills, who has the ability to nurture and disciple both congregations
- A preacher with an appealing communication style, who shares their evangelical and liturgical traditions
- Passionate about engaging with the local community
- Enthusiastic about involving people in the life of the church and its activities in the parish
- Able to maximise the use and care of church resources
