Key messages at the presentation to Christ Church

12th November 2006

  • We have begun active major fundraising with grant making trusts.
  • We have already secured support from the Diocese and received early funding to run focus groups in the community
  • We will shortly have some provisional architects drawings of proposed hall which meet the identified requirements
  • The first major fundraising event is the Craft Fair on the 18th November 2006 with Paxton School.
  • We will be arranging further fundraising events after the craft fair, including a project launch with details of the proposed building.
  • We have developed and agreed a new vision for the use of the hall.
  • It will include the development of a new Playpen toddler centre, an expanded programme for young people and a shared flexible community space.
  • Our Project Manager has made links with local networks in order to strengthen and improve our profile.
  • We expect to obtain outline planning permission in early 2007.
  • We aim to have a building plan within 12 months.
  • We will continue to engage with local community groups and regularly communicate developments to the Christ Church congregation.
  • We will be holding specific gift days at Church.
  • If you would like to help fund raising, please speak to Eileen Digby-Rogers or Chris Anderson.
